Ljubljanica – the real dragon’s treasure: An overview of medieval weapons found in the river.

Roman Vucajnk

The legend says that the Argonauts have sailed up the Ljubljanica River on their epic quest and killed the local dragon. In reality, the rather short river has been granted the status of a national monument in 2003 due to its wealth in archaeological findings, the oldest from the 4th millennium BC. The lecture will focus on several dozen swords and other weapons found in the river, among which the HEMA folk might recall the Ljubljana Sword, a replica made by Albion in 2012.
