About the trainer – Sébastien Schwab

I have been practicing HEMA for ten years, with focused work on the Messer since 2018. I have taught Messer for the past 6 years, drawing primarily on the Lecküchner tradition (CGM 582) as foundational sources. In addition to my ongoing training, I have taught workshops at both national and international HEMA events.
My practice also includes regular training in Liechtenauer’s longsword tradition.
Moreover, our club has spent the last two years conducting dedicated research on Wittenwiler’s treatise. For my part, particularly his material on the Messer/Basler and Kurzmesser.

Teaching & Research Approach
I prioritize rigorous source analysis, structured technical development, and systematic pressure testing to evaluate tactical and practical viability.
