About the trainer – Arne Koets
Arne started HEMA in 1998 in the Netherlands, after being a re-enactment fighter several years before, when research was still in its infancy, and has competed in harnsichfechten (and jousting) tournaments since 2002. He has specialised in pollaxe, longsword, roßfechten and harnischfechten. He led groups in the Netherlands, UK, and Germany and taught clinics in HEMA in over 19 countries. In his dayly life he is a jouster and a dressage instructor.
He organises the Roßfechtensymposium and Harnischfechtensymposium HEMA events at his house as well as the Feldlager event. He was quite chuffed to be called a ‘HEMA dinosaur’ last year at dreynevent.
