“It’s like ballet with violence.”

Weapon: Messer

Source: Lecküchner, Talhoffer, Glasgow

What to do when getting into close distance? In Messer fencing we often end up in situations in which both counterparts get closer to each other as initially intended.
“Einlaufen”, “Überlaufen”, “Durchlaufen” – these are just a few examples on how Lecküchner, Talhoffer & Co. tell us to work in the close(est) distance.
In this workshop we will work with universal concepts in Messer fencing: using of the off-hand, offlining and entering into (arm-) wrestling-distance.

Prior experience in Messer fencing is of advantage, but not a requirement.
It’s an application-oriented workshop, but there might be some time for peeking into human pretzel-folding.

Skill level of Participants: Any skill level
Needed Equipment:
Minimum: BYOM (bring your own Messer)
Recommended: Groin Protection, Throat Protection*, Light Gloves*, Fencing Mask* (*for a possible more dynamic approach on the exercises)
