The Book of Lessons is an anonymous manuscript dating to the early seventeenth century, often attributed to Pedro De Heredia. This workshop will examine a number of the plays from the text, in particular the authors’ use of measure as well as dealing with opponents who like to charge in with the dagger.

Skill level of Participants: Beginners (basic knowledge of weapon / system required)
Needed Equipment: sword (rapier), dagger, full fencing kit – mask, jacket, gloves, chest plate, throat guard, leg & groin protection.

I am an instructor from the Renaissance Sword Club in the UK, specialising in early modern historical fencing. I also research Italian and French fencing masters with an emphasis on princely martial education.
