Laure Bornier began to practice Hema when she joined De Taille et d’Estoc (Dijon, France) in 2009. She first learned wrestling, dagger and longsword from Fiore Dei Liberi, and then gave a try in various weapons and traditions such as French rapier or langes Messer.
In 2011, she started Viking reenactment and decided to work more on this period. She was very attracted by the variety of weapons used, and curious of what Viking fighting could look like, due to the lack of sources. She manages sessions dedicated to Viking fighting in her club, and she gave some workshops in different events in France for few years.
