The role of the buckler in Bolognese swordplay

Description: 
In this workshop we will focus specifically on the functions of the buckler as an additional weapon in Bolognese swordplay, and how it fits into the fencing mindset and tactical arsenal, following the teachings of Manciolino, Marozzo and the Anonimo Bolognese. The class is recommended for anyone with an interest in using an offhand weapon for the first time, or in trying the Bolognese fencing system.

Needed Equipment: 
Single handed sword, buckler, gloves, mask, gorget – as a minimum.

Skill level of Participants: 
Any.
